Painting my studio...

I've been telling my husband we need to repaint the yellow studio since we painted it. I feel like the sun is inside the room and is not precisely a nice feeling, specially in the southwest. The problem is that I have so much stuff here that repainting means we needed to move everything. And we did, at least partially because we just painted 1 wall and the half of 2. There's still much to move and do. Still I feel more than happy with the color. It's a gray-blue soooo sothing.... It inspires me to make beautiful things.

This is a pic of the work in progress...

Here is a pic of one of my favorite things, a small ambulance ornament that makes me wonder what would happen if it has to travel fast with those tires??

This is one of my china dolls that I love:

Here is some glitter and vintage buttons:

And this is a fabric that is so beautiful I don't know what to do with it. I wanted to make some curtains for the kitchen but then I wanted to make some pillows for my studio... but a bag would be nice also... while I decide i just keep it here to look at it. I like pretty things : )

PFATT tuesday...

Tomorrow is PFATT Tuesday and the theme this time is "Once upon a time".

Well, once upon a time a Danita was trying to sleep her baby at 10 pm and still didn't have any ideas. She thought and thought and her husband came home and slept the baby. She went to her studio and started searching for the right piece that gave her an idea. She found a little box and a candlestick holder that was saving for something she didn't know what was it but she thought it would be something fabulous. Danita asked for a little inspiration and her journey began. She cut and pasted, searched for ribbon, applied glitter, fill her hands with glue and painting and finally, she created a little fairy. She was very satisfied with her as she was 2d but looked as if she were 3d. She gave her wings and a wand. She sprinkle glitter and put her in a little home to protect her from the rain. Danita loved the fairy and the fairy was happy ever after...

This assemblage will be available beginning tomorrow at Ebay. Don't miss out. Search PFATT for more beautiful works of art!

Comission finished... a beautiful flower

Today I still have lots of unpacking and laundry and cleaning to do but I have this unfinished commission I had to complete so I did. Besides who wants to do housechores when one can make some art??

It's called "Cat on wheels" and is the complement of a previously piece I made (Dog on wheels). I have a lot of trouble trying to take the pic because of the beeswax, the wheels and the light. But I'm assure you is so much better in person!

I hope you like it Linda!

And this morning, as I was going for the newspaper this beautiful surprise was waiting for me in one of my pots. This plant only has bloomed once, 2 years ago. And today, she decided to do it once more and with no only one, but 2 beautiful, deliciously smelling flowers... (jasmine I think?? I'm not sure. I just know they're gorgeous.)

I'm home!

Finally! After I don't know how many days I'm home again!!!
I'm usually very sad when I return but this time I was longing to be back. I was very relieved when my sister's biopsy gave negative results (no cancer, Thank God!!!). I've never been away so long. I missed my husband, I missed home. My baby missed them too, because she slept like an angel and got very excited to see his dad. I was welcome with a beautiful white roses bouquet....
It's so nice to be home again...

New art!

I´ve been very busy at my mom´s house. My baby is all around the house, constantly on the move and I have very few materials here to work with I have to use more imagination than usual. I wanted to make a paper doll but when she was finished I didn´t quite like it. She needed something else. She needed a story. So in the middle of the night as all my good ideas start, a beautiful song by the spanish group Mecano came to my mind: "Hijo de la luna" (Moonchild). It talks about a gypsy that wanted the love of a man so badly, she asked the moon for it. The moon agreed but asked her for their first child as a return. She agreed. When the baby was born he was as white as the moon. When the man saw it, she thought it wasn´t his and killed the gypsy and took the baby to a mountain and left it there. The song says that now the moon turns into a craddle every month when the baby cries and will be full when the baby is happy. So I got it! I´ll made her with that story in mind. I make a paper mache box and put her there... and the fun began! After many pieces of paper and dirty fingers later she was finished!! She will be on Ebay beginning today for the ones interested : )

Feeling better...

Thanks to all for your kind comments. I don´t know what happened to the blog that the comments were disabled but you still took the time to send me an email. I really appreciate it. The good thing about being me is that even if I fall in depression very easily, I get out of it with the same easiness with just the right words! I feel a lot better today! Thank you!

I discovered a great artist today! She´s Kelly Snelling and she´s just great. Her art really speaks to me. Here is one of my favorite pieces:

Here´s the link to see her work:

Isn´t she great?

A little depressed today...

I´ve been battling depression my whole life... there are days when I´m actually very happy or at least stable, but other days the most insignificant thing send me back to depressionland...

I´ve been away from home for almost a week now and I thought I was going to be very happy with my family but I can´t stop feeling homesick... besides my sister just broke off with her boyfriend and seeing her sad makes me even sadder... And I miss my husband!... Anyway... I hope I will feel better tomorrow...

By the way, I made a new collage today that depics my mood today and my sister´s heartache.

I´m at my mom´s house...

This last week was crazy. I´m at my parent´s house now. I´ve had a terrible headache all day and I just got a haircut that makes me look just like one of my paintings (dark hair and bangs). So I painted myself in this collage with butterfly wings because I´m changing.

My baby just took her first steps and I want to cry with a mix of excitement and sadness because now I feel she´s not longer mine : ( but also I´m so proud of her, 11 month old and already walking!!!! By the way, HAPPY MOTHER´S DAY!!!! (a little bit late but better than never).

I feel so behind stuff... Ebay has been sooooooooooooo slow... and things are just plain weird. I feel like the world stopped for a moment. This post won´t make any sense but I just need to unwind. I don´t understand why the paintings I consider the most beautiful are not the ones people like best... maybe I just don´t like the same things other people do...

I have several pieces for auction right now, but no movement... the good thing about Ebay is that it doesn´t end until it ends, so there´s still plenty of time...

Oh and I haven´t forgotten that I´ve been tagged, just wait for me a little bit while I have a little bit more time to think about the 7 things. I will go to sleep and hope my dreams bring me some answers...

New books, new magazines, new paintings...

This weekend was full of new things. I received tons of magazines in the mail that are piled up waiting for me to read them... which I'll gladly do but we went to a book fair and I found some books that had the same kind of illustrations that I used to enjoy as a child. Of course I bought lots of them. I love children's books. I also purchased others with beautiful images and wonderful stories. Now I have lots of magazines AND books waiting to be read. I wanted to read them but with so many beautiful illustrations I felt inspired and I stayed late yesterday and made 3 collages. I love them all but my favorite is without doubt "Isabella" (The Mermaid). I hope to have time now to read a little bit.

One with nature

Some of the books I bought:

I think I have some free time now... I think I'll go watch Grey's Anatomy and then work in other pieces I have in process.
